To qualify to become a Club member you must either be an Italian National or be of Italian descent. Non-Italian partners can also become members if sign-up with their partner. Children under 18 come under their parent’s membership.

Benefits of being a Club Member include:

Free Club activities like the annual picnic in Eastbourne in February, Italian National Day Celebrations in June, Club Garibaldi (Wellington) vs Club Italia (Nelson) football game in November, and the Children’s Christmas Party and Seniors’ Luncheon in December;
Subsidised Club activities like the annual bus trip” in March
Subsidised Italian Language classes for adults with the Circolo Italiano di Wellington and
Free parking at the Club after 6pm Monday to Friday and all day in the weekends

New members’ nominations will be published prior to the executive committee accepting applications for membership. Non-Italian spouses of members are automatically eligible for membership.

Members who have reached the age of 70 and who have been financial members for five consecutive years prior to reaching that age do not need to pay subscription fees. New members joining after the age of 70 shall be required to pay subscription fees for FIVE consecutive years before obtaining this benefit. The no charge privilege does not apply to the spouse of a member over 70 who is not yet 70.
